Between Gazes and Silences Solo Exhibition - Ivette Ramos Levy
Between Gazes and Silences
A Solo Exhibition by Ivette Ramos Levy
Exhibition Dates: November 20 – December 20
About the Exhibition
Between Gazes and Silences invites viewers into the imaginative, symbolic, and deeply introspective world of artist Ivette Ramos Levy. Drawing inspiration from Carl Jung’s writings on the shadow and Joseph Campbell’s concept of the hero’s journey, the exhibition explores how quiet moments of reflection can become catalysts for transformation.
Ivette’s work moves boldly between the psychological and the fantastical. Her paintings, ceramics, and sculptural pieces create a dreamlike universe populated by multi-eyed figures, hybrid beings, masks, symbolic fruit, and expressive characters that feel both whimsical and profound. Through vivid color, layered textures, and mythic imagery, she examines the space between presence and absence — the threshold where inner discovery takes shape.
A World of Symbols and Story
Every piece in this exhibition feels like a small myth unfolding.
Eyes that watch. Masks that conceal or reveal. Fragmented figures reaching toward wholeness. Strange yet tender creatures that straddle the line between humor and darkness.
Ivette’s universe is imaginative, raw, and emotionally charged — full of vulnerability, curiosity, and unexpected beauty. Each work invites you to pause, to look closely, and to consider what lies just beneath the surface.
These artworks are visually striking, symbolically rich, and unlike anything else being created in Dallas right now.
The Artist’s Invitation
Through her visual language, Ivette invites viewers on an inner journey — a moment to stand still, listen between the lines, and recognize that every gaze holds both fear and revelation. The work asks us to confront our shadows while celebrating the transformative power of silence, stillness, and self-discovery.
Visit the Exhibition
Discover the Between Gazes and Silences exhibition, an inner journey — a search for meaning through silence, reflection, and transformation. Inspired by Carl Jung’s writings on the shadow and Joseph Campbell’s concept of the hero’s journey, Ivette Ramos Levy explores how moments of stillness can become turning points for renewal.
Her paintings, ceramics, and installations reveal the space between presence and absence — where eyes, masks, and fragmented figures act as symbols of awakening and resilience.
Through these works, Levy invites the viewer to pause, to listen to what lies beyond words, and to recognize that every gaze holds both fear and revelation.

The HeART of Resilience Exhibition
-Stories of Strength and Healing After Breast Cancer
Presented by Flaunt Flat Revolution and hosted by Art on Main
Breast cancer is a journey that transforms lives, reshaping not only bodies but also identities, perspectives, and spirits. The HeART of Resilience Exhibition is a powerful visual narrative that honors the strength, resilience, and healing of breast cancer survivors as they reclaim their bodies and redefine their sense of self.
This groundbreaking exhibition brings together artists from all walks of life—students, emerging talents, and established creators—to explore themes of empowerment, self-love, and body positivity. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and more, these works will celebrate the diverse paths survivors take, whether choosing reconstructive surgery, embracing aesthetic flat closure, or finding confidence in their unique beauty.
The HeART of Resilience is more than an art exhibit; it is a movement. It is a space for dialogue, inspiration, and community, where stories of survival and transformation are shared through the universal language of art.

Creatives Heal Humanity - A Call to Gather
What if creatives aren’t just here to make beauty…
but to lead the way forward?
We believe this isn’t just possible... it’s already beginning.
All around us, artists, innovators, healers, designers, storytellers, and visionaries are waking up to a deeper truth:
The world needs more than content right now. It needs conscience. Connection. And courage.
And creatives are uniquely equipped to bring that.
But not alone.
This gathering is for those who feel the pull to create beyond their own work…
To imagine what becomes possible when we come together... not just as individuals, but as a creative force for good.
What to Expect
🌀 A guided conversation with fellow creatives who care deeply about healing, truth, and change
🌱 A space to explore what collective creative leadership might look like
💬 The freedom to listen, speak, reflect... without pressure or performance
🤝 The beginning of something we co-create… together
⏰ Time to connect with other creatives
This is not a workshop or a webinar. It’s a gathering. A spark. A starting place.
Whether your gift is painting or problem-solving, dancing or designing, writing or weaving people together — there is room for you here.
We don’t know where it’s all going.
But we know this:
We’re not meant to do it alone.
Let’s see what happens when we gather.

Artist Statements:
Corey Godfrey
Corey Godfrey’s work is rooted in a fascination with “craft” materials, drawing inspiration from the playful creativity of her 1980s childhood. Her discovery of yarn sparked a deep passion for its sensual process and its historical ties to women’s strength and resilience. Guided by dream imagery, her pieces act as visual storyboards—capturing memories that evolve as time softens their clarity.
Her latest series explores the solace of nature, created on uniquely crafted wood forms that unravel themes of vulnerability, strength, and beauty. Layers of yarn symbolize the passage of time, with each thread reflecting aging and mental health challenges, while evolving patterns reveal tension and harmony. These transformations invite viewers to uncover what lies beneath the surface—intimate yet expansive moments of connection, reflection, and discovery.
Corey invites viewers to engage not just visually, but emotionally, fostering a sense of “home” through tactile connection. Her work transforms spaces into ecosystems of contemplation, amplifying the enduring bond between humans and nature—especially in moments of personal or collective need.
Katrina Rasmussen
When I first painted with oils, I understood what the poet Pablo Neruda meant when he wrote, “... Something started in my soul, fever or forgotten wings.” The arts have always captivated me: dance, theatre, music, literature… but it was not until I picked up oil painting in my twenties (on a lark, and against the advice of almost everyone I knew), that I found my artistic home. That spirit quickening excitement, that magical poetry of a soul awakened… for me, it was the luminous color-glow of oil on canvas.
I am self-taught: I learned by making fantastical messes, and through the kindness of other artists. Over the past decade, I have developed a system of creating mixed media works with oil paint over Venetian Plaster. I embrace the oil’s transparent qualities, which I can manipulate so that the layers of paint, collage, or plaster underneath are either hidden or exposed.
Teaching has always informed my artistic practice; the joys of discovery that occur in the classroom carry over to my professional practice, and often my students inspire me to keep asking my own artistic questions. It was through teaching that I discovered ceramics. The tactile, earthy nature of this medium speaks to my inner 80s child: muddy, messy, and strong-willed.
This year, when I had to learn how to throw on a potter’s wheel for class, Pablo Neruda’s words echoed in my mind. Fever, forgotten wings… like coming home, the rhythm of the clay in my hands called me back to myself from what felt like a creative wilderness. I experienced intense joy in building my new body of work for “Nature in the Folds.” I created these works from an arid place, where only the most unquenchable joy survives.
I invite you to wander through deserts enfolded, on a playground of improbable texture, color, and form. These ceramic works, like my paintings, celebrate intersection points: where materials and ideas and joy come together to celebrate the sanctity of common ground, the space we hold for others, and that which we hold for ourselves. My desert of dreams has a bit of raw-edged defiance embedded among the agave. Joy, encountered in high relief, amid sun and thorns; joy, resolute.
Duke Skarda
Call it obsession or indulgence, but when certain ideas or inspirations enter my head, the only way to excise them is to build them. We all have them, these visions, and their outcome may have many forms. Steinbeck calls them “glories”. When they invade one’s thoughts, they must be dealt with: push them aside or act upon them.
My efforts are mostly focused on wood, though I also enjoy painting and ceramics. I love the warmth, workability, and randomness of wood with the unique varietal aromas of cut lumber. I love the grains that ebb and flow and the imperfections that give it life. Driven by interest in architecture and engineering, I enjoy the design and invention required to simplify complex features. I enjoy the time spent discovering how to build these little gems, even when they’re interesting only to their creator.
As an artist, I am mostly self-taught, though I have many mentors with incredible skills who dip low to show me the nadir of their abilities in hopes that I might do something with them. I vainly combine these learnings in an effort to create the ideas. I have a sizeable home “studio” (also known as a messy space) that combines woodworking equipment with a kiln, clay, paint, and canvas. Hours spin past unnoticed when I have the time to dive into the “shop”.

Pam-ela Harrelson
I have a long history of creating and teaching commercial art. From my work as an art director, graphic designer, illustrator, and college professor, I draw upon a vast knowledge of creativity, design, hand skills, and digital know how. To start, I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising Art and a Master of Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University. I continue to work in the graphics field while I develop my body of artwork until I am able to devote all of my time to this notion. I am a lover of things from the past which includes toys, classic movies, fashion, design, art, technology, architecture, and other ephemera. I like to assembly bits and pieces of these elements into dimensionally constructed pieces of art whether it be large wooden, figurative captures or smaller handmade cards and prints. I like the process of creativity and bringing all of my history into cohesive, exciting works of art.
Education:
Bachelor of Fine Art Advertising Art UNT
Master of Art Graphic Design/Painting TWU
After obtaining a BFA degree, I began my career working in the Dallas area as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, and Illustrator. I worked full-time for five years at various ad agencies and design firms before starting my own graphics and illustration business of which I continued for many years. During this time, I served as a member and president of the Dallas Society of Illustrators where I helped organize and coordinate monthly meetings, juried national competitions, and workshops.
I returned to graduate school to earn a MA and began teaching a wide range of computer graphics, design, and art courses at multiple colleges and universities in the Dallas and surrounding areas. Today, while I continue to work in the graphics arena, I have a studio where I work as a fine artist exhibiting multi-dimensional, figurative creations and small hand crafted cards and prints.

Step into Fracture, a vivid collection of pop surrealist and contemporary abstractions by Dallas-based artist Ross von Rosenberg. This exhibition explores the spaces between beauty and dissonance, chaos and reconstruction—where fragmentation becomes a form of visual poetry.
Through bold juxtapositions and subversive layering, Ross creates works that evoke place, depth, and psychological tension. Some pieces invite pure aesthetic immersion, while others unfold into deeply personal narratives, each one a balancing act between control and surrender.
Influenced by a wide-ranging lineage—from Caravaggio to Basquiat, Duchamp to Dali—Ross brings together classical technique, modern abstraction, and the raw spirit of pop surrealism in a body of work that both challenges and captivates.
Fracture is not just a collection—it’s a visual landscape of tension, imagination, and the compelling beauty found in breaking things apart.
Artist Statement
Fracture is a body of work about the universal human forces, external and internal, that pull us apart or bind us together. Fear, love, time, vice, safety, wants, needs, hopes, dreams, disappointments, and relationships; all forces that exert their will on everyone by virtue of existing in the world. And no matter the armor of our choosing, we will prove to be vulnerable to them just the same.
The work is an expression of this in two parts. Part one, is the external expression universally across the human experience. Part two, is the internal expression as abstracted emotion that struggles to maintain balance and control within ones self.

• Create a marketing plan that works across multiple platforms
• Attract real followers who care about your work

Tony Strickland Solo Exhibition
“I firmly believe there’s an inner artist in every person, but the difference between the professional, and/or lifetime creative professional and the lay person, is the artist’s ability to face their fears and insecurities and pursue the final vision. This is my life’s purpose and journey. The pursuit of creative freedom, spiritual & intellectual growth, and the unexpected results and truths that are discovered as a result of this process.”
Join us at Art on Main for the powerful debut of CAUTION, a daring solo exhibition by Dallas-based artist Tony Strickland—a name you’ll want to remember.
Strickland returns to his iconic 1992 painting Caution with new urgency, pushing boundaries at the collision point of human creativity and artificial intelligence. The result? A raw, layered, and visually explosive series that confronts one of the biggest questions of our time:
As AI accelerates, how do we ensure caution isn’t left behind?
Join us for the Closing Reception, Saturday, July 26 from 2-4pm (Artist talk - 3pm)
Refreshments will be served.
What to expect:
A stunning collection of large- and small-scale mixed media paintings, inspired by AI prompts and brought to life through tar, enamel and talent.
A visually rich display where digital origins meet their final analog forms—see how an idea evolves through man and machine.
A fearless dialogue on technology, identity, and the moral tension in an AI-powered future.
“This body of work represents the moral quagmire of AI—its power, its peril, and the urgent need for caution as we navigate a world where humans may no longer reign supreme.” —Tony Strickland

Artist Statement:
I’m Kaneesha and I go by the artist name Canela Paint. My artist name embraces my Hispanic heritage and was a nickname given to me years ago by a coworker because of my skin. I am an emerging artist with a focus on pop culture digital lifestyle art
As a digital artist I create vibrant, bold, and colorful works of art that provide a mirror for those who have been historically marginalized and silenced, by reflecting their authentic experiences, joys, and struggles without shame or judgment. Through my art, I hope to create a sense of belonging, by showcasing the beauty of uniqueness and complexity.
Although my work primarily amplifies the voices and experiences of Black Women and Men, I strive to foster a global community that values intersectionality, inclusivity, and empowerment. My art is an invitation to every one of diverse backgrounds, who share similar stories of resilience, strength, and triumph to celebrate their narratives without apology.
Solo Exhibition
Metamorphosis: The Beauty of Transformation and Time
This body of work narrates the journey of personal transformation and spirituality, while understanding how those themes are connected to one’s willingness to grow and time given to understand their purpose.
Through deeply personal and insightful visual narratives, the collection reflects the shared experiences of balancing motherhood, changing family dynamics, navigating careers, and battling mental health issues.

A Love Letter To...
A Love Letter To… - Juan Cruz Solo Exhibition
Exhibition: January 27 - February 15, 2025 (extended)
A conversation with the artist: Saturday, February 8th - 6:30-8pm.
Art on Main is proud to present A Love Letter To…, a solo exhibition by artist, Juan Cruz.
This deeply personal body of work reflects the artist’s journey of love, identity, and cultural connection. Inspired by the Arabic language, Japanese anime, and the concept of “chance,” Cruz creates dynamic compositions that weave together themes of personal commitment, heritage, and transformation. Using four powerful words—Juan, Malak, Free, and Palestine—the artist explores the intersection of design and meaning, transforming what started as handmade stencils from his engagement to Malak into vibrant, evocative paintings.
Through his innovative use of line, color, and movement, Cruz’s work captures both the intimate and the universal. A Love Letter To… is a visual homage to his wife, his faith, and the resilience of the Palestinian people.
Visitors are invited to experience this journey at the closing reception on February 8th, where Cruz will engage in an artist talk and conversation about the stories behind his work. This exhibition is a testament to love in all its forms—a promise, a unity, and a celebration of connection.
ARTIST STATEMENT
This body of work represents a unity and a journey between two individuals in a space. What started as handmade stencils for our engagement became a series of paintings. These paintings are created using four different words: Juan, Malak, Free, and Palestine. In a way, these words are a time-stamp of my journey with Islam and my wife. Inspired by the Arabic language and Japanese anime, my work mimics both through the use of line, color, and movement.
I am interested in “chance”. What happens if I take something recognizable and flip, turn, rotate, or overlap? Will the meaning change, or just the design? To me, these took on a whole different meaning. They became love letters or notes dedicated to my wife and the people of Palestine. A Love Letter To… is a collection of work that depicts my journey and my love.
A Love Letter to..
These are my letters to you.
To us.
To me.
They are a visual description of my commitment to us.
A promise to our people.

Join us for De Profundis (From the Depths), an extraordinary exhibition by Giselle Castro-Brightenburg. This exhibition serves as a visual diary of the past year, focusing on sea creatures and exploring my emotional world. Drawing on Jungian psychology, the ocean represents the subconscious, and through these paintings I express emotions like love, fear, loss, gratitude, and grief. Beyond the Geometry of the Universe
Exhibition dates: November 12-30, 2024
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 14th from 5:30 - 8:30pm
"Beyond the Geometry of the Universe" is an immersive exhibition that invites the viewer to explore the intricate interplay between geometry and the cosmos through the lens of abstract oil painting. In this collection, the power of shapes, colors, and textures transcend the physical dimensions of our world, inviting the observer to contemplate the infinite possibilities that lie beyond our immediate perception.
Each piece in this exhibition serves as a visual meditation on the fundamental structures that govern the universe. From the swirling galaxies to the precise patterns of atomic interactions, these works translate the complexities of cosmic phenomena into a language of form and color. Through bold lines and harmonious compositions, I, the artist invite you to see beyond the mere geometry of our surroundings and to connect with the deeper, often unseen, forces that shape our existence.
As you wander through this exhibition, allow yourself to be drawn into the vibrant dialogue between abstraction and reality. Let your imagination roam free, exploring the realms of possibility that exist beyond the canvas. Join me in celebrating the beauty of geometric abstraction and its profound relationship with the universe we inhabit. Welcome to a journey where art and science converge, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary.
