Émilie Lamarsaude

I am a graduate from Southern Methodist University where I studied Medical Anthropology and English. I have been drawing and painting since high school. My main mediums are acrylic paint, watercolor, POSCA markers, and colored pencil. I enjoy painting scenes and objects from nature, animals, and still life.

I am inspired by my multi-cultural background, friends and family, the natural world, and the color pink!

I work in veterinary medicine and live in Ketchikan, Alaska with my boyfriend, Avery, who is in the Coast Guard.

The nature and wildlife here has brought new life to my art!

My latest series is painted with flowers of all shapes and colors. These blooms were the original catalyst for making these paintings, but as the seasons changed so did the foliage, and so did the focus of my lens.

I started to look beyond the plant life I am surrounded by in Alaska and began taking inspiration from many different environments.

I hope to make these paintings part of an ongoing, more cohesive series that follows every season and many landscapes.
