Jennifer Hair, She Speaks the Truth, photography, 11x14 in.
INSPIRATION
I was asked by a local singer to photograph her small show at a local library. During the show she spoke of her journey with homelessness and the way people treated her. There was a quiet moment that I caught the image. I loved the strength in her eyes but the almost defeated gesture. Her message was just a request to her audience...she just asked that we see the homeless as people.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I find beauty in the everyday. I believe that elevating the ordinary-objects, places people-becomes transformative for both the creator and the observer. As a woman I believe that we must have our own voices in our art and share that with others. If my art makes someone think, connect or be inspired then I am happy.
