Anastasiya Shyvilka, Alena. XVII, Kazimira. XVI, stoneware and acrylic paint, 4x6x4 in.

INSPIRATION
My inspiration for this piece comes from quiet moments of contemplation and the inner strength that emerges from stillness. The two female figures, seated peacefully across from one another, represent reflection, empathy, and the shared experience of resilience. Their bronze-like patinas evoke a sense of timelessness, transforming intimate gestures into something monumental and magnificent.

Through simplified forms and the spatial dialogue between the figures, the sculptures create a powerful and calm presence. The work celebrates the creative power of women by highlighting emotional depth, authenticity, and the quiet strength that feels both grand and deeply human

ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a multimedia artist currently working with ceramics. My sculpture series of small-scale abstracted human figures explores the subtle yet powerful resilience found within human sensitivity. Through these figures, I reflect on the complexities of our contemporary world and the inner strength that emerges in response to uncertainty. The figures’ gaze, oriented half inward and half outward, embodies a state of awareness that balances contemplation with engagement.

Essentially, my work celebrates the creative power of introspection and emotional authenticity. Through these figures, I examine how we can maintain humility, sensitivity, and purity during uncertain times. With this, I would like to emphasize that true magnificence lies not only in grand gestures but in the quiet strength of remaining open, empathetic, and deeply human.
