This exhibition celebrates the tradition of salon-style hanging, a method of displaying artwork that originated in the great art salons of 17th- and 18th-century Europe. Rather than presenting works in a single row at eye level, salon exhibitions filled walls from floor to ceiling with paintings of varying sizes, creating a rich visual experience that encouraged discovery and conversation.

In that spirit, Art on Main presents a collection of small works by artists from its East Dallas creative community. Featuring painting, mixed media, photography, fiber art, and more, the exhibition brings together diverse artistic voices in a single shared space.

Participating artists:
Andrea Lamarsaude, Brooke Aston, Candice Lindsay, Émilie Lamarsaude, Emily Lamberty, Jacque Forsher, Karen Jacobi, Laurie Mahoney, Monica Cowsert, Natalie Lammers, Pam-ela Harrelson, Sheila Cunningham, VET and Yesenia Mejia Urieta.

Every piece tells its own story. Together, they create a portrait of the creative energy thriving in East Dallas today. Visitors are invited to slow down, explore, and discover connections between works, artists, and ideas—just as audiences did centuries ago in the great salons.

All works available for purchase.
