I made this piece to capture the beautiful colors of summer and my love of swimming!

Artist Statement
Sharon Zigrossi is Dallas-based artist who loves mixing the unexpected in her art.

A collector of found materials, Sharon loves to find ways to creatively incorporate what we often throw away into her creations.

‘Summer Me’ was inspired by the flowers in her garden bursting with blooms as she stepped outside one morning. The mixed media painting reflects the nurturing joy of her garden, the warmth of the sun and the pleasure of swimming on a summer day!

Along with painting on traditional surfaces Sharon also uses hub caps, rescued from the side of the road, as her ‘canvas’. Her creations, that she calls Blooming Hub Caps, are painted and often an assemblage of bits of this and that.

Sharon loves to share the fun of creative recycling by teaching art workshops.
