Alex Winnubst, Pouring Back into Herself, acrylic on canvas, 26x34in., $1,250
For this piece, I was deeply inspired by blending realistic figures with mythical and abstract imagery. It became a visual representation of my own personal journey—"pouring back into myself" and embracing the process of growth and change. I began with the imagery of the water bearer (Aquarius), symbolizing the act of filling oneself with purpose and clarity. Through raw, and often confusing or scary moments, I aimed to capture the illuminating path of self-discovery, where the act of searching inward and pouring into yourself transforms into something both powerful and healing.

At the heart of this work is the exploration of feminine power, where beauty isn’t always soft or polished, but sometimes vulgar, messy, and unapologetically raw. It’s a power that rises from the depths of struggle and self-exploration, with the realization that beauty isn't something delicate and embracing it as something fierce and untamed. For me, this work embodies the ebb and flow of personal evolution, where feminine energy isn’t always neat or controlled, but is undeniably strong and full of life.
