Patriarchy is the inspiration for this work. It is also a commentary on the importance of due process. There was recently a trial where the defendant's ex-husband was the main source for the investigation. If the investigation had been done properly, he would have been treated as a suspect when first responders arrived on the scene, instead they relied on what he told them. "Patrick Said" became a meme during the trial, which ultimately ended in a mistrial. During the trial many people began to suspect it was Patrick who committed the crime.
