Susan Williams, Silent Yet Singing, oil on canvas, 40x30in., $4,000
Poem by Barb Goodspeed Grant

how like
trees
we are
rooted and grounded
in Love
reaching
up
silent
yet singing

Artist Statement
I paint to express the feelings I have when I see any part of the sky, or light reflected or refracted on something of nature, particularly trees---a branch, a stem, a leaf. Those simple, yet breathtaking things remind me that we are all part of something greater than ourselves. The sky takes focus to the infinite and nature shows the marvel that is right in front of us. I want the viewer to feel they, too, are in a place witnessing the beauty and wonder of the infinite and the immediate. I am privileged to be able to live in a glorious world that shows us all a magnificent creation of beauty and grandeur, even on the intimate scale.
