Nadine Romain, Bliss, mixed media and oil, 24x18in. $2200
In “Bliss”, I wanted to exude the deepest appreciation and vast expansion of the heart you may feel when reconnecting with your own Inner Light. In the history of time, it has been called: Enlightenment, Samadhi, Nirvana, Bliss! The ultimate destination of our human journey! The emerald green and turquoise background streaked with deep bronze color just scream of richness and fulfillment. The white poppies, most often symbols of death, to me here represent what we must let go to reach the ultimate state of bliss, not a loss but rather a transformation or transmutation of the self!
Artist Statement
After the crazy events of 2020, I found myself on a path of renewal that included healing my physical body and nurturing my Soul back to “thriving”. Starting to create art again and the long daily walks on the Dallas trails became my daily dose of wonderment. The glimpses of light and bewilderment I discovered in the natural environment of those walks contributed significantly to nursing me back to Life with a capital “L”. It also helped that I had many years of introspection and self-discovery through my life-long yoga teachings and alternative healing practice. This long journey reacquainted me with my femininity and the ability to continue believing in "good" and "light" behind the gray clouds of daily life! Here is "to LIGHT!"
