Angeline Collier, Tessera I – Illuminated Heritage, acrylic, 24x 24in., $1,150
As a kid, I loved the exploration of shapes and contrast in art, which sparked my Tessera series—where I use a reverse-color mosaic style to celebrate women from different cultures and explore what beauty really means. In Tessera I – Illuminated Heritage, light and shadow come together to bring out the strength of a Native American woman’s ancestral roots, letting in the light of her enduring beauty. I hope this piece pulls viewers in, sparking a sense of wonder as they uncover the hidden beauty in her story.

Artist Statement
Painting is my way of honoring the legacy of my mother and grandfather, whose passion for art continues to inspire me even after their passing, with each brushstroke connecting the past to the present. I find endless inspiration in the natural world—especially in the beauty of my children and the play of light around me—which fuels my creativity and deepens my love for capturing life’s moments. Through my art, I hope to share a sense of joy, reflection, or inspiration, inviting viewers to pause and find beauty in the world as I do.
